BOOKS: ORGAN TRADE, MISERY, SLEEP & KELLY OXFORD

While I haven’t read a whole bunch those last weeks days, I did read a significant amount at the end of December. Some of these books really took me by surprise and I am thrilled to be sharing them with you!

THE RED MARKET

The red market is an incredibly eye-opening book about the world’s organ brokers, bone thieves, blood farmers, and child traffickers. If this sounds like unfamiliar territory to you, then this book is for you.

While I’ve had a basic understanding of the mentioned topics, this book blew me away. I finished it within a day or two – I simply could not put it down.

If you want to get a better understanding of what’s really going on in the world of organs, bones and orphans – then this book is for you.

HOW TO BE MISERABLE

I must say, this book took me by surprise. It’s all about 40 specific behaviors and habits which, if followed correctly, will leave you miserable and unhappy.

I am a lover of self-help books and this book is the exact opposite. It’s a great book that will show you what you are doing on a day to day basis to make yourself miserable, without even noticing.

I highly recommend it to anyone interested in self-help and beyond.

SLEEP SMARTER

Let me start off by saying that this book taught me A LOT about sleep and how I can sleep better and wake up more rested.

Sleeping is a topic that’s definitely underrated and this book stresses the importance of it all.

If you want to feel better rested and make the most of your hours, then this book is for you.

WHEN YOU FIND OUT THE WORLD IS AGAINST YOU

This was the first ever book I read from Kelly Oxford and I gotta say that I am in love with her writing! This book is a collection of essays about Kelly’s life and experiences.

If you are looking for a light read and a book that’s going to make you smile, then this is for you.

WHAT IF THIS WERE ENOUGH?

May I just say that this book, is everything.

Havrilesky urges us to rethink how we are living our lives, deconstructs some of the most misleading messages and asks as to consider: What if this were enough?

It’s an incredibly well-written book about materialism, social norms and everything in between. I enjoyed her book so much, I only wish it’d have been longer.

If you enjoy a thought provoking read, then you are going to love this book!
