Travel diary: Exploring Belgrade

This is my first time in Serbia and I am so thrilled to be here and to be able to explore its beautiful capital, Belgrade! I’ve always been thinking of visiting and never really got around to it until now. It took us 8.5 hours to get here and when I rose in the morning I was ready to go and explore.

We spent the day just walking around and exploring the city. I usually have a couple of places that I want to see and check out and the rest of the time is spent food shopping, roaming around and checking out places I get recommended.

My partner is a lover of coffee and craft beer and checking out new coffee places as well as beer stores is one of his favorite things to do whenever we travel. We ended up checking out Przionica D59B, a lovely cafe with a rustic charm and delicious coffee.

Our next stop was Drunk Chiwawa, a beer shop that offers local and international craft beers. The shop owner was super friendly, chatty, he went over every single local beer with us and shared his favorites. If you are into beer, then Drunk Chiwawa is the place to be.

Afterwards we hit the shopping street which is, at this time of the year, decorated with lights and all sorts of holiday decoration.

Our last stop for the day was the park. If you look really closely you can see a bridge in the center of the photo, right above my head. That’s the beautiful Ada Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge over the sava river.

I am really enjoying Belgrade so far – its architecture, people, food – everything 🙂
