My Yearlong Shopping Ban

I decided to start my yearlong shopping ban on October 1, 2018. My yearlong shopping ban is heavily inspired by the book the year of less and Jenny, from The Simplicity Diaries.

My Yearlong Shopping Ban

Frugal living is everything

If you happen to follow me on YouTube then you know that I am pretty frugal. I’ve been living frugally and minimally since 2014 and couldn’t imagine living any other way. Frugal living and minimalism are at the very heart of everything that I do.

Throughout the years I’ve made several videos about my expenses and I am thrilled to say that I feel really good about it all. I am super mindful about how I spend my money and time and frugal living is my default.

I could talk about frugal living and its benefits all day every day without ever tiring of it. It’s something that I feel very strongly about. It’s my firm belief that frugal living could be of benefit to almost everyone, it’s just amazing!

My New York City budget of $1,300

In New York City my monthly budget was just $1,300 which is astounding considering that affordable rooms in New York City alone are around $1,500 per month. The cost of living in New York City is incredibly high and living there certainly isn’t cheap. However, I made it work and greatly enjoyed my time there.

Traveling the world for less than $1,000 per month? Yes!

I am currently traveling the world for less than $1,000 per month and I am having a blast. You see, I love frugal living and I also love a good challenge. When I don’t travel I am living out of a suitcase and a backpack.

When I first heard about shopping bans I was intrigued and figured it’s time to try it myself. Just to see what it’s like. I see my yearlong shopping ban as a challenge and experience and boy am I excited!

My yearlong shopping ban is going to start on October 1, 2018. Let’s freakin’ do this!
