Firstly, I am going to start by saying this: I am not sure what this post is going to be about but figured I’ll share with you some random bits and bobs.
Secondly, I sincerely hope that you are OK. We are living in incredibly uncertain times and wherever you are, I hope you are safe and sound. I wish you all the strength you need and know that eventually, things are going to be OK, perhaps better.

I had initially started this blog to share my travels, lifestyle, and everything in between, took a break, and then Covid-19 hit and I felt kind of stuck. My thoughts were racing and I kept coming back to the below question:
“What could I possible share that could be of value to others in these deeply uncertain and weird times?”
Today I came to the conclusion that there are indeed quite a few things that I am learning about, that I’d love to write about and figured I’ll get back into the habit.
A few random life updates
A few months ago I decided to cut my hair and it feels great. I haven’t had it this short since I was a kid and it feels refreshing. That being said, I did not cut it “just for fun” (that’d be lovely). I cut it because of a condition that I’ve been dealing with for half my life. Did it make it better? No, but I needed to switch things up.
In regards to my most recent post about deciding to no longer fly, I stuck it out and haven’t stepped on a plane since. Instead I did the below:
- I spent a week in Germany (got to my destination via train and cab and returned home via a ride share)
- I spent 2 weeks in Austria (got to my destination via bus and public transit and home the exact same way)
To my surprise, I haven’t missed flying, quite the opposite in fact. I’ve found that with having fewer “choices” due to not being able to travel as far, I enjoy the trips that I do take so much more.
What else is there to say?
There are a few areas in which I am struggling right now that I might share about if I understand the issues at hand better and have found solutions that don’t only apply to my situation, but everyone else’s who is dealing with something smiliar.
I want to wrap this post up by saying again, that I hope you are well. Whatever you may be going through right now, I trust that it will be OK. We are living in incredibly strange times right now and it’s my hope that we’ll come out of this stronger and better equipped.
Sending you lots of love from Berlin,
Nina

Hey Nina, lovely to hear from you. Times are tough and we are trying to find our balance between the pleasure of going out and travelling and the rules of staying inside and staying away from planes and boats etc. Lock down was hard this spring, and we fear a new lock down may be upon us (in Greece) in autumn. We try to stay positive and hopeful. Wishing you all the best and missing your voice on the internet.

Hey Mairi,
lovely you hear from YOU! ๐
I feel you! Itโs been very strange and especially the beginning of it all I found hard.
I hope that there wonโt be new lockdowns everywhere. Iโd wear a mask 24/7 if need be! ๐
Much love from Berlin,
Nina
